Veronica Nolan, Urban Alliance
Ms. Nolan joined Urban Alliance as its Program Director in 2002 and was promoted to Executive Director one year later. She joined Urban Alliance after having taught at Eastern Senior High School for four years, a DC public high school, through the program, Teach for America. In 2008 Veronica was awarded the Meyer Foundation’s prestigious Exponent Award which recognizes strong and effective nonprofit leaders with a track record of accomplishment. Since then she has also been recognized as a Rising Star in Woman Who Mean Business by the Washington Business Journal and honored as part of Greater DC Cares’ Class of Change 2009 for leaders in philanthropy. Recently she participated in Leadership Greater Washington’s Class of 2010. Veronica received her undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia, her Masters of Art in Teaching from Trinity University and her Certificate in Nonprofit Management from Georgetown University.
